THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
DISCHARGE SYSTEM (EDDS)
The Emergency Department Discharge System (EDDS) was the first software program of its kind
and continues to be the prototype for all other computerized discharge systems in use today.
Since its conception and development over a decade ago, EDDS has been upgraded routinely to
improve the program's design and text instructions. Although the texts are reviewed by
Emergency Department physicians for medical content, many of the program enhancements that
have been made over the years are based upon the suggestions of our customers. CYBIS's
reputation for excellence endures because of this commitment to product quality as well as
customer support and satisfaction.
ABOUT EDDS
Designed to provide aftercare and follow up instructions for Emergency
Department patients, EDDS is a data-use/data-capture system containing 1,500 diagnoses and over 200
medications. Users select diagnoses that include ICD-9 codes from menus ordered by medical
specialty. Aftercare and medication texts are written by board-certified emergency physicians. All
texts can be modified permanently, or for a single patient. Based upon interviews with emergency medical
staff and patients, EDDS was designed to ensure ease of use and comprehension of instructions.

At this time, CYBIS Medical Systems, Inc. has decided to discontinue major improvements to our software.
The work needed to produce future upgrades to our products, particularly the move to web-based platforms, while insuring the reliability, security and integrity of the software, will require major expenditures of resources. We want to assure our customers with ongoing support contracts that we will continue to provide prompt support with the same care, diligence and immediacy as in the past, as well as correct any "bugs" and work on special customer projects. We foresee continuing this support for many more years. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
