In addition to the basic patient demographic information and the primary and treating physicians, this screen contains four "List Fields"; Care Info, Medications, Added Info, and Follow Up. When any one of these list fields is active, the three buttons below the list fields allow the user to Add items to the list, Edit Text for an item selected on the list, or Delete an item from the list.

In the first three list fields (Care Info, Medications, Added Info), the Add button provides quick and easy access, via an expandable "Tree Diagram" (below), to the entire menu of items available for that list field.

The Edit Text button allows the user to temporarily edit a text for the individual patient discharge. Permanent modifications can be made to the texts in the Master Files section of the program. When purchased, EDDS contains over 500 care texts, which are tied to over 1500 diagnoses, and 200 medication texts. For maximum patient comprehension, all of the texts are formatted with section headings and bullet points, and all texts are written for a sixth grade or lower reading level.

The Follow Up list field allows the user to add Follow Up information for multiple diagnoses for the patient. Each of these can include diagnosis, time to follow up, and follow up physician information.

The Registration button, at the top of the Discharge screen, gives the user access to the full Patient Registration screen, while the Work Excuse and School Excuse buttons allow the user to enter information relating to return to Work or School limitations that the patient may have. The Print button will print the patient's discharge information and automatically date and time stamp the discharge. The Close button will return the user to the Patient List screen.
